About Me
Janine Jacobs is an emerging acrylic and mixed-media landscape artist based in St. Albert, Alberta. Her work explores the intersection of the natural world and spiritual restoration, blending realism with expressive abstraction. Under the mentorship of Susan Woolgar through Mastrius, Jacobs creates expressive landscapes that serve as a visual testimony of renewal and freedom.
Deeply influenced by her faith, Jacobs’ practice is a response to the restorative beauty of creation. She draws upon a profound personal journey from past grief to a present state of peace as she explores her own reaction to what her eyes see. By layering texture, line, and light, she invites viewers into an "oasis of peace" designed to inspire awe and wonder. Her paintings offer more than aesthetic appeal; they are prophetic narratives of hope, encouraging others to experience emotions as well as the same sense of invitation and "first breath" clarity that defines her creative process.
